Compensation and Benefits Manager

ZGF is seeking a Compensation and Benefits Manager to join our People + Development team.  This position will manage the overall administration and communication of the employee benefit and compensation program. The candidate will demonstrate strategic thinking and creativity to ensure progressive total rewards in a competitive recruitment and retention environment.

Benefits Administration

  • Oversee and administer employee benefits for a professional services firm with offices in US and Canada.
  • Work with brokers to conduct reviews and adjustments of domestic and international benefits in the U.S. and Canada
  • Prepare materials and conduct presentations regarding benefit changes, open enrollment, and new employee orientations.
  • Serve as day-to-day contact for benefit plan providers to inquire and resolve benefits enrollment and eligibility issues.
  • Processes monthly billings from insurance providers. Identifies, manages and resolves errors resulting from benefit administration, HRIS system and enrollment processes.
  • Conduct benefits orientation and training activities for new hires, managers, related to qualifying events, open enrollment, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal programs (Provincial in Canada) such as HIPAA, COBRA, Health Care Reform, etc.
  • Proactively identifies process improvements and work with appropriate persons to modify procedures as needed.
  • Performs special projects and all other assignments efficiently and effectively.
  • Oversee U.S. and Canada retirement plan administration including compliance activities, participant communication, due diligence, and fund monitoring.
  • Manage and administer wide range of company-provided insured & voluntary benefits such as life, disability, LOA, AD&D, long-term care, salary continuance, paid time off, flexible spending account, health savings account, and other programs.

Compensation Administration

  • Analyze internal and external compensation data including geographic issues and ensure pay equity.
  • Participate in internal pay equity reviews.
  • Recommend compensation approaches and strategies to remain competitive.
  • Partner with Business office regarding employee communication and administration of profit share
  • Coordinate input to appropriate salary surveys.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field. Professional certification preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years of related work experience.
  • Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and ability to interact effectively with employees and Partners of the firm.
  • Knowledge of FMLA, CFRA, HIPAA, COBRA and other federal, state and local regulations
  • Working knowledge of British Columbia regulations
  • Experience establishing creative and forward-thinking employee benefits strategies, and presenting business cases with cost detailing.
  • Strong analytical, attention to detail, time management skills and excellent judgment needed. Professionalism, tact, flexibility, and diplomacy are essential.
  • Must possess a strong work ethic and ability to respond and manage multiple priorities efficiently, organize and present information effectively is essential.
  • Proficient in the use of HRIS (Ceridian and Deltek Vision preferred), Outlook and MS Office Suite
  • Knowledge of architectural / engineering terminology a plus, though not required
  • Travel required to support other offices
