Junior Urban Planner

We have an immediate opening for an entry level Urban Planner with 1-2 years of post-graduate experience.  The role is based in our downtown Vancouver, B.C. office, where each day we ideate, collaborate and create, supported by a culturally diverse group of design professionals, in-house leading-edge technology including digital fabrication, virtual design and realization, and physical modelling. As an integrated urban design practice, our Vancouver team thrives on multi-disciplinary engagement at the intersection of architecture and urban design and is distinguished by creative and intellectual curiosity.

About You:

  • You have a Landscape Architecture or Architecture Degree and/or Urban Design Degree and are working towards obtaining your CIP, PIBC, BCSLA or equivalent.
  • A creative problem solver with well-rounded Urban Design skills and the ability to work independently, learn fast, and balance multiple projects, often with short schedules and quick deadlines.
  • Proficient in Adobe Suite, Revit, Rhino, AutoCAD, Sketchup, and 3D Max.
  • Ability to illustrate urban planning and design concepts graphically in a clear and effective manner.
  • Organizational and critical thinking skills to create materials for engaging and creative presentations through storytelling.
  • Awareness of indigenous and rapidly expanding multicultural environment of the Vancouver, BC region.

As an integral part of our collaborative and outgoing team environment, you will provide graphics, design, and overall team support for urban design and master planning projects that encompass mixed-use developments, multi-family and high-rise residential, major institutional, and cutting-edge technology clients, to name a few.

Typical required tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Urban design and precedent research
  • Site analysis and existing conditions documentation
  • Analysis and concept diagrams
  • Site plans and area mapping
  • Illustrative plans, sections, and perspective renderings, both hand and digital
