Coordinate design intent and documents with consultants.
Independently analyze and address technical and design intent requirements for project.
Analyze design intent for project, and based on analysis, ensure design and construction documents comply with design integrity through all project phases.
Independently develop design concepts; independently develop technical details on project using design expertise.
Analyze design intent for project, and based on analysis, use independent judgement to produce design drawings, presentation drawings and computer and physical models using computer-aided design (REVIT and Bluebeam) software and 3D Visualization and Rendering software.
Develop Project Specifications for new structures or renovation projects applying knowledge of basic structural and site design, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials. review completed reports, plans, estimates and calculations for technical and design intent compliance, and issue modifications to documentation.
Review shop drawings and submittals for technical and design intent.
Interface with clients to understand and develop the program and the design.
Review work product of less experienced staff members to effectively utilize their efforts on projects.
Present solutions in-house and to others as required.
Perform miscellaneous office duties.
Education: 5 year Bachelor of Architecture degree (foreign equivalent accepted); and
Experience: 5 years' experience as an Architectural Intern, Junior Architect, Designer, or similar position.
Education: Master of Architecture (foreign equivalent accepted); and
Experience: 3 years post-professional degree experience as an Architectural Intern, Junior Architect, Designer, or similar position.
3 years' professional experience with Revit, 3D Max, SketchUp, Rhino, Vray Rendering, and Bluebeam.
2 years' experience collaborating with junior team members on projects (preparation of architectural plans, construction documents, elevations, sections, details and renderings).
Professional experience (any) with institutional, research / laboratory, corporate and commercial projects.
Professional experience (any) with energy-efficient design.
Submission of portfolio containing all of the following: A) samples of at least two (2) sets of photo-realistic renderings of institutional, research / laboratory, corporate and commercial projects suitable for use by an architectural firm (at least 4 renderings total), and B) Sample Construction Documents (plans, elevations, details and section drawings) for at least four (4) different professional projects.
All experience, skills and requirements may be gained concurrently.
