BIM/Revit Specialist

  ZGF is seeking a BIM/Revit Specialist to join our New York City office.

The Revit Specialist operates as an embedded, dedicated technical resource within a large design team and is responsible for model maintenance, technical support, the project execution plan, standards implementation and standards compliance. The Design Technology Manager will work closely with the firm-wide Design Technology team as a liaison to the design team to discover, develop and test innovative solutions and technologies relating to digital design practice.


  • Revit subject matter expert. Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as a BIM support role or equivalent.
  • Considerable experience with architectural construction documents and administration
  • Experience with large-scale architectural projects
  • A passion for architectural graphic standards
  • Familiarity with other design software, such as AutoCAD, Excel, Rhino, Sketchup, Microstation, etc.
  • Familiarity with project management software such as Autodesk BIM 360, Newforma, Bentley Projectwise, etc.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to support a collaborative teamwork environment
  • Ability to be an effective collaborator to a geographically dispersed technology team
  • Ability to patiently explain complex subject matter relating to design software and 3D modeling
  • Responsible, reliable and trustworthy
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Demonstrated initiative, motivation, ability work independently and to plan strategically
  • MS Excel/SQL expertise a plus
  • Ability to maintain positive relationships with design staff, excellent interpersonal skills
  • Organize and prioritize multiple simultaneous and ongoing tasks
  • Understanding of the application of technology to professional services processes
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or relevant related experience


  • Serve as a support resource to help staff solve day to day questions and needs arising from the use of Revit on architectural projects
  • Work to develop BIM execution plans and work with extended multi-location project teams to develop efficient ways to collaborate
  • Monitor project Revit models for issues relating to quality and team efficiency
  • Create and manage specialized Revit content as needed for multiple project types
  • Participate in the creation and management of standard components and families
  • Support the training and orientation efforts for new and existing employees in the use of firm BIM/Design Technology systems, project organization and standards
  • Manage interoperability between BIM and other design tools
  • Advise on the development of office standard automation utilities, both in-house and third- party
  • Provide back-up support to Design Technology team
  • On-call availability after hours and on weekends

  • Concentrated mental and/or visual attention; work involves performing tasks to very close accuracy and quality specifications
